Oral cancer appears as a growth or sore in the mouth that does not go away. Oral cancer, which includes cancers of the lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, hard and soft palate, sinuses, and pharynx (throat), can be life threatening if not diagnosed and treated early.
Cancers that are known collectively as head and neck cancers usually begin in the squamous cells that line the moist, mucosal surfaces inside the head and neck (for example, inside the mouth, the nose, and the throat). Head and neck cancers can also begin in the salivary glands, but salivary gland cancers are relatively uncommon.
Today First India News welcomes Dr. Nidhi Patni, a cancer specialist who will brief our viewers about the symptoms, signs, causes and treatments of both these cancers. Have a look.
